D47-1 Human relations - Development of play on UMMO as therapy
We have pointed out to you that Society is a true Network in which individuals are represented mathematically by nodes interconnected with one another by multiple arcs.
This Network is dynamic. It is governed by laws, and its functioning will be optimal when the structure of the Network is harmonious.
You may ask us:
How can one express in a simple way the true essence of those arcs or branches in this mathematical model of a Network?
It is very simple:
Every factor that puts us in relation with our fellow men must be expressed in the form of arcs, and its function can be expressed in a more or less complex form by an analytical formula, just as an electric line joining two points or nodes of a Network has associated with it a current intensity which you measure in Amperes.
Physical contact between two people is one example among a thousand of this type of relationship. Blows in the course of a fight, a handshake among you or placing the hand on the chest among us, a kiss, etc., bring with them, as you know, emotional reactions in the individuals concerned.
But this kind of relationship is not as important as two types of BONDS which among Earthmen have taken on a TRANSCENDENTAL importance owing to their aberrant constitution:
They are these:
BONDS OF INFORMATIVE COMMUNICATION (LANGUAGE)
ECONOMIC BONDS (EARTHLY INSTITUTION OF MONEY).
That the structure of the Earthly economic Network is utterly mistaken hardly needs explaining to you, who are living through all the social and political ferment of the Planet, whose first visible cause is the unjust distribution of wealth and its income.
All your philosophical Doctrines are at present striving to construct a complete System in which the economic conception of Society is more just... Without managing to make their aspirations a reality.
But have you not noticed that at a deeper level there beats a terrible deficiency that renders the solutions put forward by Earthly thinkers ineffective and almost sterile?
Do you not realize that the means you have for transmitting your mental schemes, your ideas, that is, the BOND OF INFORMATIVE COMMUNICATION: LANGUAGE, is of a chilling poverty?
You are not yet capable of faithfully transmitting your emotional reactions, your ideological conceptions, sifting them beforehand to rid them of what is trivial and accessory, and, what is more serious.
YOU USE A STANDARD LANGUAGE. The same oral forms for everyone, as if the receiving minds were all identical.
Someone, on receiving our reports, accused our Society of UMMO of being a mechanized society without a “soul”.
But is there anything more mechanized and soulless than sentences uttered for the mere itch of hearing oneself speak, without taking into account the Psychology and capacity for understanding of our interlocutors!!!
You despise Psychology to the point of making no effort to create a language that makes the understanding of ideas more easily accessible, adapting them to the intellectual level of each person.
That is how you are continually seen arguing for whole hours in defence of opinions which, if they were expressed more correctly by each of the participants in the dialogue, would leave them surprised to recognize that at bottom they are arguing in defence of the same concept, masked by inadequate words.
For you, words end up surrounded by symbolic meanings that have nothing in common with the genuine interpretative value assigned by a Royal Academy of the Language, and you end up inflamed, fighting furiously over a constellation of words while the authentic value of the ideas is lost in the distance.
Every attempt at Social renewal sinks irremediably in the sea of empty words. If, in the midst of the din of one of those dreadful wars which among you serve only to stimulate scientific inventiveness, for want of other more rational incentives, you were to stop and listen with true scientific objectivity to the reasons of the adversary, you would understand that at bottom there was only a total incomprehension of motives, because there was lacking an authentic vehicle of expression that would have made the mental assimilation of those reasons mutually possible.
All of you speak with contempt of Marxist Communism, of existentialism, of economic Liberalism, of Protestantism... Atheists and communists feel nauseated when the Roman Catholic Church is mentioned to them...
If you ask one side or the other what the true nature of those doctrines is, their essential postulates, their philosophical core: it is saddening to observe the quality of the answers, the number of prejudices, of distorted concepts, of commonplaces, the amount of hatred accumulated by each group against the ideas of the other. In them one sees everything that is apparently erroneous, whatever is aberrant or harmful in them, while, with an atrophied mentality, the marvellous fraction of truth that all of them contain is ignored.
We, who, not having been born on Earth, are free of that passionate partiality of yours, take note of the sad, grotesque and ridiculous spectacle presented by some men of the Earth who carry their folly to the point of despising those other beings who create doctrine, “Leaders” of groups who, with mistaken ideas or not, have devoted their lives to the defence of their ideals, while they tolerate in their own ranks the multitude of mediocre and sterile individuals, merchants who exploit noble causes only for their private profit, corrupting doctrines whose original gestation was pure and promising. Only because the latter are apparently fellow believers, and the former lead religious, political or philosophical movements which they foolishly regard as adversaries.
Instead of pointing your finger at and exterminating so many defective individuals whose mentality has degraded to the point of turning them into sinks for material goods, for money, for property. True materialists who laugh at the yearning for social justice passionately shown by thousands of men of good will enrolled in ALL the political parties, in ALL the religions and ALL the philosophical systems.
You devote yourselves to insulting, humiliating, degrading and imprisoning those idealists because they apparently do not think as you do, without intelligently realizing that a true link acts as a common binder: THE HOPE OF A MORE JUST FUTURE EARTHLY HUMANITY.
It is not, then, what is erroneous in the Earthly Doctrines that has made them fail. It is the impossibility of finding means of INFORMATION that would make them accessible to all men that has held back that life-giving current which, linking them all together, would already by this time have allowed whatever was true and rational in them to be transferred from one to another, and would have allowed Earthly men to conceive a single Doctrine which, though it would not contain the immutable Truth of WAAN (UNIVERSE), would approach it step by step with the collaboration of all the thinkers and scientists of the Earth.
That is how: when institutions such as Money, erroneous conceptions such as Materialism, terrible struggles such as wars between brothers, would lose all their meaning to give way to a worldwide current of unification in pursuit of common goals, like the one that gives life to our Society on UMMO.
But it is utopian to think that such forms of language are going to arise among you through a simple meeting of the hierarchies of UNESCO, for example. You would need many years of analysis and a long period of development, followed by many more for its adaptation.
For now we urge you to meditate on these lines and to strive to understand and respect the ideas of whoever is speaking in front of you. Make an effort to listen attentively to the arguments of your interlocutors, analysing them, clearing away the undergrowth; trying to probe the motives that drive him to express himself in that way. Never mock the ideas that He develops.
Make an effort to invite other people to develop their points of view, even encouraging them to formulate their harshest criticisms against you.
We have repeated to you again and again that the OEMII is a Network, and we consider this concept so transcendental that we prefer to repeat it, so that you become familiar with it.

In earlier reports we outlined for you the structure of the brain in its connections with BUAWAA (SPIRIT). We considered that you should study them first in order to avoid falling into errors that we have frequently observed in Sociologists as well as in doctors, psychologists and theologians of the Planet Earth.
We are referring to certain mental processes. Many of you believe that the whole thinking process, perceptions, the hidden processes of the Subconscious (We give these, among other examples) are simply and purely spiritual in nature. Thus, when you recall a holiday trip taken during the previous summer and evoke the sequence of experiences that remained imprinted in that mnemonic faculty you call memory, many Earthmen believe that such an evocative process is simply worked out by the soul or spirit, or at least consider that the brain acts merely as a secondary auxiliary in this projection of memories.
Such an animist conception is puerile, though no less naive is the thesis of certain materialist psychologists who, denying the existence of the spirit, reduce all mental processes to energetic manifestations of the cerebral cortex.
We make this clarification because, since our mental life is a function of the neuronal Network of the encephalon, and this network in turn is bound to the general NETWORK of the OEMII (BODY), any ludic action that does not take into account the nervous mechanisms of man is dangerous for the whole structure of the human Personality. (Remember that in preceding paragraphs we pointed out to you that it is no use “repairing” one element of the NETWORK if the others are neglected).
That is why Play must be oriented to the service of that whole Human Network. And each man, in each state of Time, in each situation, will require a different ludic plan. But a plan in which the development of the neurocortical mechanisms is as important as, or more important than, the muscular development of, say, the Deltoid or Biceps muscles of the arm.
As you see, it is not enough to draw up sports rules in which the brain takes part to some degree. When a Football player is on the field, there is no doubt that, although his maximum activity centres on exercising the Adductor, Rectus, Sartorius, Peroneal and Tibial muscles of the Legs (and of course the exercise affects not only the skeletal system: the whole metabolic, neurovegetative, respiratory, circulatory process, etc., comes into play), nobody can deny that each player develops intense mental activity, centred on the rules of strategy he has learnt. His own Subconscious intuition drives him to control, from his brain, the millions of cellular dynamisms involved in his hectic activity. You may then object to us:
If the Football Player “thinks” during the match, will you deny me that it is an integral sport in which all the organs of the person are exercised? Will you deny that the brain too is affected by a mental Gymnastics?
We repeat: NO: IT IS NOT ONLY INSUFFICIENT BUT PROBABLY HARMFUL, and of course we continue to deny Earthly sports the character of INTEGRAL.
Turning once again to the example of the ELECTRONIC NETWORK OF A TELEVISION SET: if, trying to “Invigorate” the Power Transformer, you wind a new secondary with many more turns of enamelled wire, you will most probably burn out the filaments of all the valves, and it will be of no use to clean the screen at the same time and renovate all the resistors and ceramic capacitors of the circuit.
For the fallacy contained in “that view according to which, because the cerebral cortex is involved in a Game” such as Bridge or Chess, you “develop” it, is so false that it is strange to see how genuine specialists in Earthly sports medicine accept it without the slightest critical analysis.
It is rather as if, to give you a new simile, you rubbed your nails every morning and therefore imagined that such an operation, directed at a minute fraction of the arm, strengthens all its muscles, neurons, bones and blood vessels.
But have you realized the immense complexity of our Brain!!!
In our BIEWIGUU laboratories in EWOIAAU IU (Specialized in Psychobiology) there is a UEIN GAA EIMII (Gigantic screen) on which the whole structure of the neuroencephalon can be seen in schematic form. This Screen, divided into 405 sections, each located in one of as many IAXAABII (You would call them laboratory halls or rooms), has a total area of approximately 516,600 Earth square metres. The nerve circuits with their corresponding synapses form a tangled network that would surely leave the best Earthly neurophysiologist perplexed; its complexity can only be compared with our XANMOO AYUBAA (COMPUTERS), whose structure cannot possibly be encompassed and understood by a Human being, requiring many thousands of specialists for their design, maintenance and repair. Well then, when an Earthman plays Chess, only an infinitesimal fraction of those neurons of the brain come into play. And do you think they are precisely the ones belonging to the cortical zone that most needs strengthening...?
When our BIEWIGUU specialists discovered the intimate relationship between all the physiological elements of the OEMII (HUMAN BODY), they realized that it was a superhuman task to plan and design a sports system that would satisfy all the objections we have dictated to you throughout these typewritten lines. They found themselves in the same questioning attitude that you will have adopted towards us on reading this critique of Earthly Play and Sport.
We have already shown that a given Game or Sport does not satisfy integral development, since, if its rules are standardized for all people and all moments of their lives, they can hardly adapt to the psychosomatic picture of the individual at the moment he needs it, and to the organs and somatic factors that require it at that moment.
But you yourselves must recognize that, even supposing that every sportsman, every man, had at his service a thousand specialist doctors who analysed his body cell by cell in order to work out the most suitable type of recreational exercise at that moment, by the time they had finished their diagnosis and tried to draw up the functional rules of that super-sport for his person, enough time would have passed for it no longer to be effective when they tried to apply it, since the metabolic evolution of the organism would have modified the initial conditions. This is therefore, in principle, a utopia.
For many XEE (UMMO YEARS) our technicians therefore had to make do with developing a series of standardized Games which, although more complex and rational than the Games and sports of the Planet Earth, were not really much more effective than these. The foundations had already been laid for what was to be a ludotherapeutic treatment of our Society; awareness had been gained of the need to adapt Play (U-C Note: What follows is translated from the French from the site www.ummo-sciences.org since we have not found this part of the letter in Spanish) not to a whole group, but to each individual and to each moment at which he wished to exercise. It happened as on your Planet, where all sociologists realize that a Policy is needed that is capable of putting an end to social injustices, that the Earthly world demands the abolition of the terrible differences caused by private Property and by the social institutions that monopolize Capital and Power (to the benefit of a minority and to the detriment of the common Good of the Social Network), and they no doubt search eagerly for the practical formula that they foresee for the future, without present-day sociometry or the level of political Science being sufficiently mature to work it out.
Hence the evolution of our sports was slow and laborious. At that time, during the mandate of the UMMOAELEWE governed by AINAA 45, ERII 566, TOAAAO 3 and UIDAXAA 83, citizens were advised to regulate the UAXOO, each binding himself, without any imposition, to practise physical-mental exercises in full contact with nature for 30 UIW every Xii (UMMO DAYS). These practices of UAXOO (PLAY) took place in the surroundings of a river between ONAUUU and NAANAA (ARBORESCENT PLANTS very common on UMMO). They were practised among the members of three groups (you would call them teams) who fought one another in a contest in which the qualities of the adversary forced them to make intense mental efforts. Part of the process took place underwater, where each individual dived after blocking the nostrils with a plastic product and placing in the mouth the tube connected to a device arranged behind the ears, which contained oxygen solidified at a very low temperature.
We can say that almost seventy per cent of the population of our UMMO ancestors took up this custom with enthusiasm. This UAXOO was all the rage. Individuals of chronologically similar ages (OF BOTH SEXES) played against each other. Only very young UGEEYIE (CHILDREN) and the old logically avoided this type of UAXOO.
But when the technology of the XANMOO (we could translate as computers or giant calculators) developed to the point where they were capable of establishing by themselves diagnoses of human pathology, of establishing the aetiology of the different syndromes, and likewise of evaluating in infinitesimal fractions of time the physiological state of the whole nervous NETWORK of the OEMII (INDIVIDUAL), the scientists of our Planet saw the arrival of the long-coveted day that would make it possible, with a speed previously unknown, to indicate to each of our brothers the most delicate nuances of the exercise to be performed during the UIW he devoted to the OXUO.
That is how the present OXUO KEAIA that we are describing to you was born.
